On 18 May 2011 in Place du Palais-Royal in Paris (France) the urban artist L’Atlas built (and dismantled) one of his geometrical 3D signs, using 2722 cardboard boxes.
« Because the park came first, there was no question that Pier One was public, that the hotel guests and apartment owners would have to share, and that the building could serve as an improved link between the still-industrial Furman Street and the open space. »

Can Alexandra Lange please be the new architecture critic at the New Yorker yet ? Does David Remnick need 200 signatures or something ?
« The best public spaces encourage diverse urban experiences, from people watching to protesting, daydreaming to handball, eating, reading and sunbathing to strolling and snoozing. Witness the High Line. »

I love the High Line even if it’s just another scenester New York rip-off of a Parisian idea, but it doesn’t exactly facilitate what I’d call “diverse urban experiences”.
On 13th November Tiger and Turtle - Magic Mountain by Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth officially opened. The visitors can climb step-by-step the large roller-coaster sculpture and observe the landscape from the top of the artificial hill in the South of Duisburg (Germany).
