The Heatherwick Cauldron was totally the best part of the Opening Ceremony (with apologies to HRM). Still, I couldn’t help but be glad Paris didn’t win the hosting bid, because you know it would have been Jean-Pierre Jeunet building a Tour Eiffel out of naked acrobats or something.
